I posted a few months ago that I was finally in college full time. I am mostly enjoying it, and doing well in all my classes. My worst grade last semester was a B+. Not too shabby from someone who didn’t care about passing classes when I was enrolled in college fresh out of high school. YOU know, I was “free” for the first time in my life. Yeah. Fast forward 20 years.
I got an email in July, stating that the college had decided to close. Current students can finish their current terms. I have the choice of transferring to the college of their choice, or I can go my own way. I researched the college of their choice and something didn’t sit right with me about it. I don’t know if it was how the classes are set up, or the amount they charge. Maybe it was God telling me to keep looking. Again.
I did all this research last winter when I’d first decided to go back to school. I don’t really want to do it all again. Last time I picked the cheapest school. This time, I am looking more into how classes are set up, and if the college has a certain specialization. I don’t want to get a student loan, but I do need to finish school so I can launch my business with no school-type distractions!
I am thinking of waiting 6 months to transfer, instead of transferring this coming winter. Hubby thinks that’s a mistake, because I’m used to doing the school work now. I’ll be out of practice in 6 months. My reasoning is that my youngest child will be in her first year of Headstart, so she’ll be gone for four hours every day. Four hours of uninterrupted school time. But I’m also thinking that if I wait for six months, then that puts me back that length of time. I don’t really want to lose that time.
So, I will be transferring to a new college this coming January. Their classes are set up as closely as possible to my current classes. This means that I only have to concentrate on one class at a time, rather than be enrolled in 4 at a time and have to do work on each of them each week. I know that’s how on-campus classes work, but now that I’m 20 years older, have 4 children, have to contend with a pre-teen who is on the high functioning end of Autism, has severe ADHD, and who struggles to do homework…yeah, I need one class at a time.
Here’s to starting again.
Hello again! Just updating my progress. I’ve lost several more pounds and a few more inches! So far I am down 10.6 pounds and 7.5 inches since the middle of June! I am not just consuming the Herbalife products; I am also exercising.
I try for a minimum of 4 workouts a week. My workout system of choice is the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds workouts. If you are a beginner, I suggest starting with the 1 mile walks. I love the variety. The advanced walks have some different moves, to mix it up a little.
I am also working on keeping portion sizes at dinner at a moderate level, and no seconds! And eating healthier snacks. You know, like all the health professionals tell you!
Hope you all have a great week!!
it has been four weeks since I started my weight loss journey using The Herbalife system. I have lost 5 pounds and 5 inches since I started taking the products. I am able to wear a pair of Capri jeans that I could barely fit into last spring! It is such a good feeling to see progress.
One of the other benefits of Herbalife is that one doesn’t get sick as much. My husband and I always catch a bad cold when our toddler does. Hubby caught a severe cold several weeks ago because the toddler was sick. I did not get it at all! I love that particular benefit!!
Here’s to the next four weeks of health and weight loss!
I have a new favorite stamp company! I attended a scrapbook convention this year, for the second time in my life. I love the scrapbook convention!!! Lots of companies and products to look through. Classes available to learn something new. Space to crop if you want to. Last year I took a class on using up my leftover paper pieces. I love what I learned there. This year I decided to take a class that would help me in my wedding invitation business. The company offering the class is Heartfelt Creations. Their cards are absolutely beautiful! Lots of flowers, glitter, layers…I’ve been interested in their cards for a couple of years, but have never looked into their products. The class I took was working with vellum paper. The cards we made are perfect to use for wedding invitations. I learned how to shape flowers and add color to a stamped image on vellum. I have also been looking through the tutorials Heartfelt Creations has on their website. Good stuff and easy to follow! I brought a certain amount of money to spend on new stamps at the convention. I spent it all at the Heartfelt Creations booth! Happy Stamping!
Hello again! I have been remiss in posting for the last few months. The reason for this is I started going to college full time! I never thought I would enjoy college, but I really am. I am able to do all my coursework online. This was the best option for us because I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 very active kids, we only have one car, and hubby works second shift now. So I decided if I were to return to college, it would need to be either after my youngest goes off to kindergarten, or that it would need to be completely online.
My major is Business Administration, and I chose it because it will help me in my craft business when I launch it after graduation. This way my business won’t flop because of ignorance. =) So far I am doing well in my classes. I received an A and an A- in the two classes I finished already, and am currently getting an A- and an A+ in the other two classes. I am almost finished with this semester. Then I get a few weeks off, and the next semester is coming soon! Considering I failed a few courses when I attended traditional college, I am very excited at my progress.
A little encouragement for anyone who would like to go back to school and thinks there isn’t enough time, or money…research the schools you are interested in. I pulled up the list of colleges in my state and just started looking at them. There was a lot of research involved at the start, but I found my place. I hope you do, too.
My weight is not at a healthy level. I have struggled with this for a long time, since my oldest was born. I must confess I love my sugar! I have the hardest time giving up chocolate. Cheese and chips are another downfall. I have been trying to keep exercising consistent. However, six years ago I came across something called Herbalife. They sell nutritional meal replacement shakes, protein mix, snacks, tea, skin care, and they’ve recently come out with a nutrition line for athletes.
Before I started taking the weight loss products, I was tired all the time and never had any energy. I had two small children and worked the 6 p.m. to midnight shift at a grocery store. Consequently, I never had enough sleep and took a nap every day when the kids slept. After starting these products, all of a sudden I had energy! I wasn’t groggy, and I was losing weight quickly! I lost 30 pounds and several inches in less than 3 months!
I had to discontinue my distributorship because of family issues, but finally am able to start this again. I have only taken one product this week, because I am waiting for my regular order to come in. Already I have more energy and I’m not groggy after the kids are in bed. I am actually able to focus on my craft business in the evenings instead of vegging out, with no energy to do anything.
I will be chronicling my journey and pounds and inches lost. If you or anyone you know may be interested in learning more about Herbalife, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
